FuelSport was born from decades of racing, coaching, and one too many spreadsheets.

FuelSport started with a broken arm and a spark of imagination.

I'm Dave Harris. In April 2025, a crash put riding on hold—but it gave me something I hadn't had in years: time. Time to finally build the nutrition planning tool I'd been sketching in my head for a decade.

My partner Lynda Wallenfels and I have been racing since the '90s and coaching nearly as long through LW Coaching. We've seen firsthand how proper fueling separates finishers from DNFs. But conveying a nutrition plan to an athlete is hard. Getting accurate feedback on what they actually ate? Even harder. For years, we've done it in spreadsheets—error-prone, tedious, and especially chaotic for multi-day events when the sleep-deprived brain fog sets in.

FuelSport changes that. It normalizes how we create plans and record execution. What to pack. How much it weighs. What's on the shopping list at a resupply stop. How the entire event transpired. How gut tolerance is trending across training. How to fuel daily to avoid RED-S and under-recovery during big blocks.

The app has been fine-tuned by our athletes who've been using it in beta, and Lynda has shaped features through her own bikepacking adventures. This isn't a tool built in a vacuum—it's built from the field.

INSCYD testing reveals the full picture of an athlete's metabolism. We're building a coaching platform that leverages this metabolic profile to plan exactly what an athlete needs—managing energy with detailed fueling strategies, glycogen tracking, and lactate dynamics.

Sweat testing with condition-based hydration recommendations is live for all athletes. Metabolic pacing strategies are live for athletes with INSCYD data. Next up: post-ride analysis that shows exactly where lactate got out of control or glycogen burn rate was unsustainable.
